My name is Celeste, pronounced Celest-EH. Not celest. 😀 I am a multidisciplinary artist, storyteller, and student of life. This site is an evolution from my original one, and more focused on storytelling. My stories and offerings are meant to inspire autonomy, love, self-knowledge, and expression.

themes of my work

Some themes of my work include:

  • keeping the spark in our spirits alive
  • co-creating & nurturing realities
  • navigating transitions
  • creative ways of surviving capitalism
  • cultural wealth building
  • sustainability

I believe we have the power to change the world, starting with ourselves and our most intimate relationships, first.

Personally, I am invested in using all my gifts, skills, and knowledge for a higher purpose. Thus far, it has looked like supporting the global majority, locally, in bettering our well-being, equity, and autonomy.

What informs my work?

My work is informed by my lived experiences, cultural and spiritual practices, and my decade of experience in the mental health field. I keep my cultural and spiritual practices to myself, but they are centered around preserving ancestral/cultural knowledge, ways of healing, and transmitting knowledge.

My undergraduate studies focused primarily on counseling/mentorship, education, and the psychology of identity (with culture as my particular interest). Some relevant institutional validation I have received that inform my approach and skills:

  • Certified Peer Support Specialist  #MPSS-KQBSGZ
  • Bachelor of Science in Social Psychology
  • Minor in Education Studies

Intention

My intention in my work is to gently guide folks to release the need for external validation, explore their true needs, and nurture more self compassion.

This is a direct challenges to the powers that be. If we are content with ourselves, there is nothing to pull us from our center. We become grounded. We no longer move with the fabricated tides of chaos meant to destabilize our focus.

Once I realized we are living in systems that were carefully constructed, and are maintained in such an organized fashion, I stopped asking for a place at the table. Instead, I shifted my focus from seeking representation to cultivating self-validation. My work is to increasingly see myself in the collective consciousness, my cultural lineage, and a higher power/God. Furthermore, I have decided to focus on what I wish to create more than what I wish to be destroyed. Corrupted foundations fall on their own, anyway.

We are the ones who need to construct the world we wish to bring to the physical world. Otherwise, we will continue to live in worlds made by and for others in mind.

self-publishing is my current fave self-validation offering! (ft. me w my pastelito manuscript )

How does this manifest?

Through a series of intentional crafted offerings, I hope to support folks to release the need for external validation, explore their true needs, and nurture more self compassion at pivotal intersections that shape identity: transitions.

Transitions are sometimes intentional, sometimes unexpected... but always vulnerable. We have no way of truly knowing what is next. We must turn inward, ground, and be patient. The answers will come.

I work with folks in this place of surrender by offering paths to:

  • ask for help
  • have an honest check-in
  • explore options

For many, the transition is related to expanding their roles in community and finances. Here, I help reduce the overwhelm associated with the logistics of making the shift by offering career tools, such as the Resume Revamp or transition consultation. My hope is to inspire objectivity and confidence with the job-search.

Our needs are so personal, and I hope to support folks in feeling more secure in meeting their needs, whatever that may be.

For others, they need support in exploring their true desires and needs. To avoid overthinking or intellectualizing, I offer creative approaches, often related to reconnecting with our inner child (children are closest to source!). Periodically, I offer more structured offerings (i.e. self-publishing coaching, inner child workshops) in group settings to explore as a community.

All in all

This a place to explore freely, share, and connect with those who have chosen to be in community with me. This is serious work, but I do not take myself too seriously. It is very silly, nuanced, and free in this corner of the inter-webs.
